A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to inactive addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get email messages from buddies or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

In case you have a shared website hosting package with our company and you wish to activate the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it’ll take literally only one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will show a warning message and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server plan that we’re offering will allow you to set up a catch-all email mailbox without any difficulties even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you’ve set up using your domains in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. As you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you’ve already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you do not want this feature any longer, you can turn it off by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
